Fumed silica (commonly known as fumed white carbon black) obtained by hydrolysis of chlorosilane at high temperature in hydrogen and oxygen flame is a white, non-toxic, tasteless, amorphous inorganic fine chemical product. By adjusting the process conditions, fumed silica products with primary particle size between 7-40 nm and specific surface area between 50-400m2/g can be produced.
