Fumed silica, also known as fumed white carbon black, is an exceptional, inorganic fine chemical product created through the high-temperature hydrolysis of chlorosilane in a hydrogen and oxygen flame. This white, non-toxic, and tasteless material can be tailored to produce primary particle sizes ranging from 7 to 40 nm and boasts a specific surface area between 50-400m2/g by adjusting process conditions.
