Application

The application of structure and granularity of silicon dioxide in toothpaste can be controlled depending on reaction condition. Its friction is also controlled. It can be produced into toothpaste which possesses cleaning power and does not harm dentin. Another feature of silicon dioxide is for making transparent toothpaste. Refractive index of silicon dioxide is from 1.43 to 1.45. When the refractive index of toothpaste which consits of water, sorbitol and glycerinum, is equal to silicon dioxide's, the toothpaste looks very transparent.
